many of the pots that i make are geometric shapes
assembled from components thrown on a treadle
wheel. this slideshow illustrates a hybrid handbuilding
technique that employs a slump mold in making an
oval dish. the elasticity of the freshly thrown clay
allows me to articulate a strong form and show the
soft nature of the material in the finished piece.
